Showing Responsibility
As we ended our unit on How we organise ourselves which focused on the central idea 'Food people eat goes through several steps from farm to table.', Grade 1s conducted a survey to find out if DSKI students give importance to the food prepared for them for lunch. They collected information about the number of students at school who do not finish their lunch and they were surprised to learn that there are 32 students whose lunch food go to waste because they don7t eat them completely.
The Grade 1s were given a mission to think of possible ways to solve this BIG concern at school. They grouped themselve sinto 3-4 members, discussed and planned how they can help the school community.
They had diverse ideas: posters for display, short video clip, song and dance.
Grade 1s hope that through this, they can encourage all students in the school to give value to the food that are served on their tables.
